Supporting Children and Families Beyond the School Day
At Grampian Primary Academy, we understand the importance of flexible, high-quality childcare that supports the needs of modern families.
Our wraparound provision, Early Birds and Night Owls, provides a safe, nurturing and engaging environment before and after the school day. Children have opportunities to socialise, relax, explore new interests and enjoy a wide range of activities with familiar members of staff in a welcoming setting.
Rooted in our values of Commitment, Aspiration and Nurture, our wraparound provision extends the sense of belonging children experience during the school day and helps ensure every child feels safe, supported and ready to thrive.
Provision Available
Early Birds
8:00am to 8:45am
£5.00 per session
A calm and positive start to the day, including access to breakfast and supervised activities.
Night Owls
Short Stay
3:30pm to 5:00pm
(No snack provided)
£4.50 per session
Long Stay
3:30pm to 6:00pm
(Snack provided)
£9.00 per session
Activities
Our wraparound provision is designed to be fun, engaging and responsive to children's interests.

Food Provision
Early Birds
A healthy breakfast is available each morning and may include:
- Toast
- Cereal
- Fresh fruit
Breakfast is provided free of charge through the Department for Education's breakfast programme. Session charges cover childcare and supervision from 8:00am.
Night Owls
Children attending the long-stay session receive a light snack, which may include:
- Beans on toast
- Spaghetti on toast
- Other simple child-friendly options
Please make us aware of any allergies or dietary requirements when registering.
Booking Sessions
All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance through My Child At School (MCAS).
Please remember:
- Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance
- Payment must be made through MCAS
- Cash payments are not accepted
- Emergency bookings should be made through the school office
A limited number of ad-hoc places may be available and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Collection Arrangements
Early Birds
Children should arrive from 8:00am and access the site via the school gate. Following breakfast and activities, children are accompanied safely to their classrooms by staff.
Night Owls
Children are collected from their classrooms at the end of the school day and escorted to Night Owls by staff.
Parents should collect children from the front office using the agreed collection arrangements.

Wraparound care is about more than childcare. It provides children with a safe, welcoming environment where they can build friendships, explore new interests and enjoy positive experiences beyond the classroom. By supporting both children and families, Early Birds and Night Owls help ensure every child arrives ready to learn, feels supported throughout the day and continues to thrive beyond the school bell.
